Necessary Conditions on Realizable Two-Point Correlation Functions of Random Media
A fascinating inverse problem that has been receiving considerable attention is the construction of realizations of random two-phase heterogeneous media with a target two-point correlation function. However, not every hypothetical two-point correlation function corresponds to a realizable two-phase medium. Here we collect all of the known necessary conditions on the two-point correlation functi...
متن کاملExact conditions on physically realizable correlation functions of random media
Algorithms have been developed recently to construct realizations of random media with specified statistical correlation functions. There is a need for the formulation of exact conditions on the correlation functions in order to ensure that hypothetical correlation functions are physically realizable. Here we obtain positivity conditions on certain integrals of the autocorrelation function of d...
متن کاملLocal Constraints Satisfied by Realizable Correlation Functions
The Wiener-Khintchine theorem dictates that the correlation function of any stationary, stochastic signal y(t) has as its Fourier transform a function that is necessarily both real and non-negative. In this paper, I explore the real-space, geometric consequences of this reciprocal-space non-negativity constraint. I review prior results addressing this issue, and I also introduce a family of new...
متن کاملOn two-point correlation functions in AdS/QCD
In this paper we study the chiral symmetry breaking in the hard wall AdS/QCD model. We solve the equations of motion up to the second order at large momentum and obtain the first few terms in the expansion of the ”left-right” correlator, which is the measure of symmetry breaking. In the strong coupling calculation we get the result as the series in square root of t’Hooft constant.
متن کاملQuantitative prediction of effective conductivity in anisotropic heterogeneous media using two-point correlation functions
Statistical continuum approach is used to predict effective conductivity of anisotropic random porous heterogeneous media using twopoint correlation functions. Probability functions play a critical role in describing the statistical distribution of different constituents in a heterogeneous media. In this study a three-dimensional two-point correlation function is utilized to characterize the an...
